Christmas - buche de Noel

This is typical for Belgium and you see them appearing everywhere in bakeries .. it's made with lots and lots and lots of buttercream!!  

RED VELVET

One of the classics that keep on coming back..   sorry about that, can't help it.. I just love my red velvet cupcakes/cake :)   

CUPCAKE CELEBRATION

This is a copy of a pim cookie, a vanilla cupcake, abricot marmelade and a thick chocolate layer.

ABRICOT PIE

A nice abricot pie with a roaster of leftover pie dough.   it's a nice tip to do with other fruit pies as well as you see the fruit through the roaster.   

APPLE PIE

Another apple recipe.. can't resist.. this time a combination of an almond cake filling and slices of apple to top it off!    

BRIOCHE APPLE PIE

This is the result of using a classic brioche recipe and filling it with apples.  Yes, you must feel guilty as brioche is full of calories but we do have our daily fruits meaning the apples!! :-)   

CHERRY PIE

Another one ...  love to make my own pastry in stead of being it ready made.. it makes such a difference!!! 

FRUIT TART

Another pie with cherries and grapes, can't help but use this summer fruit in a pie, what else can we do with it??   :) 

FLAN BRESILIENNE

This is a "flan brésilienne".  This is the combination of sweet pastry, vanilla creme, whipped cream and a sprinkling of nuts on top.   It tasts absolutely devine and it's a very popular dessert in Belgium!   

RASPBERRY TART

This is the combination of freshly made pastry, raspberries and raspberry jam.    

FRUIT TARTS

I made these lovely fruit tarts with a friend and we had a ball!    We made everything from scratch.. The pastry, the vanilla creme and to be honest we didn't grow the fruit ourselves but we did decorate them ourselves! :)

This is a very popular dessert in Belgium.  It's a kind of vanilla custard that has the typical dark lined layer on top.
